The International Network for Terminology TermNet has been offering the qualification ECQA Certified Terminology Manager for quite a while now. It is supported by the European Commission within its Lifelong Learning project. Members of the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators in Germany (Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer, BDÜ) can book the online course at a special TermNet 25 year anniversary rate.
The online course covers the following topics: Unterstanding Terminology Management, Terminology Management Skills, Terminology Strategies for Business Processes, Team Working & Communication Skills, Application Scenarios as well as Terminology Standards and Legal Issues.
As I’ve been toying with the idea of applying for a while now, I’ve taken this opportunity and signed up for the course and exam. The course will start in October.
